Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Stafford County Criminal History. Viewing its content or using a search feature signals agreement to every term below. Anyone who does not accept them should discontinue use of the website.

NO FCRA USE. Stafford County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. It is not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation firm. Neither the website nor its advertising partners provides a service for employment, housing, credit, insurance, or another decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to identify official criminal-record resources in Stafford County and Virginia.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent of every government office. It does not store official criminal records, perform official checks, obtain files for visitors, or submit government forms.

The content routes readers to Stafford Sheriff's Records Section, Stafford court clerks, Virginia State Police CCRE, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Some pages also provide access to independent research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information obtained here or through a linked service may be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. The rule is especially important for the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Virginia law provides registry data for public safety, not retaliation, vigilante acts, blacklisting, or unlawful denial of services, and misuse may result in criminal consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider and follow all required consent, accuracy, and notice rules. This website is not that provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Virginia attorney can assess how a charge, conviction, warrant, sealing rule, or expungement law affects a particular set of facts.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Government records can change after a charge, amended disposition, sealing order, or expungement. Gaps and delays may occur, so no content here is an official statement from Stafford County, a court, Virginia State Police, or another agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government portals, legal resources, and outside search services. We do not control the destination's availability, price, privacy practices, or content and accept no responsibility for them. Its own terms apply after a visitor leaves this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Stafford County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for loss or damage arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless against claims, demands, costs, and reasonable legal fees caused by your misuse of the website or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Virginia law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of the website must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A revision takes effect when the updated language is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, with or without prior notice, as permitted by law.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be limited only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
